CAA Sports to represent retired F1 champion Rosberg
CAA Sports, the sports arm of the US talent agency Creative Artists Agency, has been appointed to manage the commercial interests of retired Formula 1 world champion Nico Rosberg.
The agency has said it will build the German’s commercial portfolio internationally and develop a marketing strategy for the 2016 world champion.
Rosberg, who surprised the Formula 1 paddock by retiring after landing his first title last November, is a brand ambassador for luggage brand Tumi and luxury watch designer IWC Schaffhausen, both sponsors of his former-term Mercedes.
The announcement of the tie-up comes after CAA Sports was appointed last month by Formula 1 to represent its sponsorship rights worldwide.
The move is one of various initiatives by Liberty Media, the new owner of Formula 1, to strengthen the commercial focus of the sport and broaden the number of available sponsorship opportunities.
