KPMG prolongs title sponsorship of Women’s PGA Championship
KPMG, the professional services giant, is to remain the title sponsor of US golf’s Women’s PGA Championship until at least 2023.
The company this week signed a deal with the LPGA and the PGA of America to extend its association with one of women's golf's five 'majors'.
KPMG replaced supermarket chain Wegmans as the title sponsor of the Women's PGA Championship, formerly the LPGA Championship, in 2015 and instantly increased the prize money on offer from $2.25 million to $3.5 million. The figure is increasing to $3.65 million in 2018.
McDonald’s was the title sponsor from 1994 until 2009, a period in which Coca-Cola and AIG acted as presenting sponsors.
This year’s tournament at the Olympia Fields Country Club in Illinois starts today and runs until Sunday.
