ITTF tasks Sportradar with keeping table tennis clean
The ITTF, table tennis' governing body, has signed a new deal with Sportradar, the sports data, betting services and integrity firm, aimed at protecting the integrity of the sport.
Under the tie-up announced today, Sportradar will employ its Fraud Detection System at hundreds of ITTF-sanctioned matches each year, including at all major events like the World Table Tennis Championships, Men’s and Women’s World Cup and season-long World Tour.
The ITTF will also be able to call on Sportradar’s Fraud Intelligence Unit, overseen by experts using cutting edge tools and processes to develop a picture of those who may be looking to enable, organise and finance any integrity attacks on the sport.
Andreas Krannich, Sportradar’s managing director of integrity services, said: “Table tennis is a truly global sport, enjoyed in every corner of the globe and fan favourite at every Olympic Games. The ITTF have today sent a clear message to their stakeholders and fans: comprehensive and credible protection is now in place to keep the game you love honest. There will be no compromise in this regard.”
