Mauriat named chief executive of European Athletics Marketing
Julian Mauriat, director general of the FFA, the French athletics federation, has joined European Athletics, the sport's continental governing body, as chief executive of its marketing subsidiary.
Mauriat is tasked with defining, developing and commercialising European Athletics' commercial strategy across the full portfolio of activities including its events, corporate programmes, communications and development projects.
His first job will be to present a 2018-2022 commercial strategy and business plan to the European Athletics Marketing board of directors, which then go before the organisation's council in April.
Lausanne-based European Athletics Marketing AG acts as a service company for the commercial strategies and sales activities of European Athletics, including sponsor account management and rights delivery.
Svein Arne Hansen, president of European Athletics, said: "He has a clear remit to maximise our commercial revenues and increase the visibility and market attractiveness of European Athletics by associating with top international commercial partners, securing long-term partnerships with prestigious companies and brands and developing creative commercial opportunities to generate new and unique revenue streams for our federation."
